Description

This Iced Lavender Matcha Latte is a floral, creamy, and refreshing twist on the classic green tea latte. Combining the earthy richness of matcha with the delicate sweetness of lavender, it’s perfect for warm days or a calming afternoon energy boost. Plus, it’s easy to make, vegan-friendly, and can be customized for nearly any dietary preference.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 teaspoon matcha green tea powder (ceremonial or latte-grade)

  • 1 tablespoon lavender syrup (store-bought or homemade)

  • 1/2 cup hot water (about 175°F or 80°C)

  • 3/4 cup unsweetened oat milk (or almond, soy, dairy)

  • 1/2 cup ice cubes

  • Optional: 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (for added sweetness)

Instructions

  1. Sift the matcha powder into a small mixing bowl to eliminate clumps.

  2. Add hot water to the bowl and whisk briskly in a zigzag motion using a bamboo whisk or milk frother until fully dissolved and frothy.

  3. Stir in the lavender syrup and optional sweetener to the matcha mixture. Mix well.

  4. Fill a tall glass with ice cubes.

  5. Pour the matcha-lavender mixture over the ice.

  6. Top with your milk of choice. Pour slowly for a beautiful layered effect.

  7. Stir before drinking for a creamy and floral fusion. Garnish with dried lavender buds if desired.

Notes

Use only culinary-grade lavender syrup to avoid any bitterness or soapy taste.

If you’re caffeine-sensitive, use ½ teaspoon of matcha or look for decaf matcha.

Homemade lavender syrup can be made by simmering equal parts water and sugar with dried culinary lavender, then straining.

To keep it vegan, use plant-based milk and skip honey.

Want a thicker texture? Try using coconut milk or cashew milk.
